In March last I tapped a Bhooteah, aged about 28, who was suffering from long-standing anasarca and ascites. His friends insisted on bringing him home at once, and as I knew he would never again face the trocar, which on this occasion he experience I rather unexpectedly, (the Bhooteahs are dreadful cowards) several strands of carbolised fine siik were introduced into the puncture, sufficiently far to keep it open. On the thirteenth day, up to which date constant trickling had occurred from the puncture, the anasarca having receded, the drain was removed, and the wound healed at once.
